Two days before 2012

Before moving to Tallinn for the New Year’s Eve, I asked my good friend to stay two days in Vilnius for a short visit. We travelled together in a lot of city since our Erasmus but he missed to see Lithuania. During this two days we had enought time to have a look on all the principals places of the capital!

The excursion review

In contrary with my parent’s trip, I didn’t had to plan everything for him. I just had to pick up him to the train station and find a taxi to go to the dormitory where I provide him my room. Because of the time I had to had  a pub crawl alone to spend the four hours between my comming in the city center and his arrival by bus at 2:00 from Kaunas.

I made some photos this night, mainly arround the Cathedral square where the Christmas Tree and the Nativity Scene are standing, waiting for people in this cold night.

The next day, after a long night we take the trolley number 2 from Sauletekis to Cathedral stop. The visit started by some classic places like the National Museum square, the Cathedral, the Presidential Palace and the Old Town. With him I finaly decided to enter in the courtyard of the University of Vilnius, it’s really nice place and I wished to study there instead of my old-modern university.

Before the lunch time we saw Pilies street and the Town Hall. We stop in CanCan Pizza in Tartu gatve to eat and after return in the old town to check.

Because it’s the symbol of Vilnius and give a perfect view on the city I show him the Gedimino Tower and its museum. From here we count the number of churchs arround us and have seen the night falling. Then we heard people on the Cathedral square attending to the 4D projection on the Cathedral’s wall. The show is really nice and in a christmas mood. If I saw it three time already, I am still very impressive by the amount of people who are on the square. It’s really a lot and alive!
After this entertainment we made a pub crawl in the capital. Some of my favorites places. We start by Alaus Namais and finish by Paparazzi, after had gone into PogoBixTarantino and trying the Radisson Blu‘s skybar!
