Tribute to the victims of the deportations

0

As last year, a lot of Estonian met on the Freedom square in Tallinn – as on the town hall square in Tartu – to display thousands of candles in memory of the victims of the Soviet politics.

One year later I attended again the commemoration of the deported Estonian to Siberian camps. If in 2014 I was unprepared, today I knew what was happening and I went to the Freedom Square with my camera and good lenses, tripod in hope to get pretty photos. Some are good, but I am shame to not have taken my second battery, in one hour the one in the camera died and I had to go home earlier.

There is one of my favourite photo for tonight. Candles are grouped and seen from top, they seems like humans reunited to be stronger.

Rest of the good shots below. Unfortunately I had to play with a difficult battery and the wind which was blowing the candles. I could myself participate and lighted about 30 candles, which was not as easy as it seems outside.
