Ostend and the seaside

To don’t stay all the day in Bruges and to see the beach and taste the summer, we went to Ostend, city with harbour, by the sea, made for tourists. A good stop we all needed.

Drive faster than the clouds

As in France, all the western Europe had a really bad weather. In Lille we had rain, on the way to Bruges we had rain, in Bruges we had rain… but not all day. For lunch the sky started to be nice, almost perfect.

When we have left the city the clouds were coming. On the way to Ostend rain fell on my car and let us expected a bad moment on the beach. But after half an hour… the clouds disappeared!

A funny thing we saw on the road was yellow statues of giant snails!

Note, park the car was very easy and quite cheap. Next to the harbour is a open air car park.

Feet on the beach

We made a walk to the beach though the church of Saint Peter and Paul. The church is on a large square of nothing.

The sand was not warm, but not cold. The wind was normal for the place (a beach) and we put our feet in the sea, water was cold… very cold!

Some photos together by the sea bater and we search for a café.

Musical restaurant

We find the restaurant after have walked. The way we took, under building and along the beach reminded me the northern France city by the sea. A lot of tourists shop, shitty cafés, beach objecs retailers.. Childhood 😀

So, we find a restaurant which had a special decoration, all in pink with musical reference everywhere. When I say everywhere, I mean that there was too much of instruments and photos. Bad taste.

But I had my cappucino, it gave me enough energy to drive to Lille.
