Lithuanian Independence Day

Today is the National commemoration of the Lithuanian Independence of 1918. I had a free day as most all the people and I decided to spend it in the city to see how celebration is doing. Between two events I had time to walk in some interesting places!

Today I decide to wake me up early to be in the city for the morning. If I say that it’s because I miss my alarm clock and get up and 11am, still enought time to prepare myself and go to city center with trolleybus. BUT I forgot that not all the trolleys go to the center of Vilnius, I mixed number 14 and 21…  I stoped in other district as far as my dormitory’s district.

I don’t know how I manage, but by taking the first trolley I saw (20) I reach the avenue and was next to the President Palace at 12:00! Perfect timing 🙂 Just on time to attend the official celebration.

Lithuanian did it good. By playing anthems and rising flag of Latvia and Estonia with their own flag. If was a nice moment during when I felt a good feeling among the population there.

After a locution from the Lithuanian president, some military moments came, shoting in the sky, military march and orchestration. On the small a crowed place every sound seem amplified!
