The castle of Trakai is a nice place for a walk, I already knew it. And today I saw that is as beautiful in winter as in summer. The orange castle in the middle of its white and frozen lake seems totally magic.
Hello there! I didn’t know where to go and I am a bit lazy since last weeks, but yesterday I remember one girl from Tallinn who has visited Trakai last winter, her photos are magnific.
Trakai is at half an hour from Vilnius and the place could be beautiful with our fresh snow. I went there not to see the Trakai History Museum that I already know but to make photos of the castle landscape and around.
I was sick but it was maybe my last possibility to see the Castle with its white dress. Moreover the the weather was really good, the best we have here since some months. I prepared myself to don’t feel the cold and it work, I was able to walk 4 hours in the snow.
I made my tour around the Island Castle, walk on the frozen and visit the city more deeply and it’s multiple islands, trying to reach the Estate Manor and its famous french park (Edouard Andrée) but it was too far finally. I saw the two Castle, the famous Island Castle and also the Peninsula Castle that I didn’t know before. I check the two church of Trakai church are Roman and Orthodox.
Happy to spent my Sunday there.
