I am now in my second semester abroad. After Estonia I move to Lithuania « the country of rain ». What the first place I should visit outside LT? Riga off course! It is close to Vilnius and I like the atmosphere and architecture of the old town.
Tour with my group-mates
The trip was organised by our ESN. We came by bus in the afternoon and stop in our hostel. Once the room given we start to search for restaurant. People making groups. I joined one of the spanish group. We first have lunch in Hesburger and then have a tour in Riga, because none of them know the city I was designate as official guide. I tried to remember the most intersting way and must seen places, it was quite difficult but we saw almost all the Old Town.
Before the Pub tour with ESN Riga we hadto come back to the hostel, some people started to drink when other were sleeping.
Pub crawl in Riga
The pub tour was quite good despite of a strange organisation – or non organisation – on group making. Many of us were just walking changing group all the time and to finaly didn’t try all the five pubs as we should.
Early city tour alone
The next morning I woke up very early and when I saw the sun through our window, I directly go in the Old Town. I had breakfast in a café and bought some food to eat on the way. I knew I hadn’t so much time so I go to the extremity of Riga, that’s means the Nativity Cathedral and the Akademic Science building. I also visit the Latvian Museum of Occupation which is on the same sqaure than our hostel. This museum is really intersting and entrance is for free, but you can give money and the end, as you wish.
